Ellen: Hi, everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com, and today we're taking a quick look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for your vehicle. This is going to fit the 2017 through 2019 Toyota Highlander, and this is going to be a powered mirror. So we'll have our electrical connection there to match up with our original wiring. And then this is going to mount in exactly the same place as our old mirror.

So there's no cutting or splicing for the wiring. There's no drilling required at all for mounting this up. It's just a really easy way to replace that broken or damaged mirror on your Highlander.So whenever you get this, you can just take the old mirror off, pop a new one on exactly how you took the old one off, and you'll notice that this piece is separated from the rest of our housing. That's because you can actually paint this backing cover to match what the rest of your vehicle. And it's a lot easier to do that whenever this cover is removed.

Once you pop this in place, it's pretty hard to get it off again, without scratching or marring the surface. So if you have a white or a red Highlander or some other color and you want to get that matched up to the rest of your vehicle, you definitely want to do this with that cover off.So once it's all painted and dry, then you can pop it into place and there'll be good to go., But that's basically what it looks like whenever it's put into place. It does have the convex lens to give us a greater field of you so we can see what's going on behind us. There's also a blind spot sensor there so we can know if somebody is coming up into our blind spot along side us. This is for the passenger side.

So if somebody is coming up on our passenger side, we'll be able to see that indicator there even if we don't see them in our mirror.We'll also have the turn signal indicator as well. Remote operates. So you can adjust the mirror face from inside your vehicle, just with those factory controls, just like the original, and it also has a heated face to reduce any kind of frost or ice and any fog that might build up in this. So it should match with all those original functions on your Highlander. Now, if your vehicle didn't have remote capability, heated glass, turn signal, or blind spot detection system, this is not going to upgrade your vehicle.

This is only going to work. If your vehicle already has those functions. Since if you didn't have them before, it's just not going to have the proper wiring and connect into. That's something to keep in mind.The thing that this does not support is the memory function. So if your Highlander had the memory function where it flips out and remembers where your mirror was positioned, this does not support that. So keep that in mind.
